Market breadth.

Market breadth measures how many stocks are rising versus falling, beyond just the index level.

Definition

Breadth indicators like advancers versus decliners show whether a rally is broad-based or driven by a few heavyweights. A rising index with weak breadth can signal a narrow, fragile move.

Worked example

If the KSE-100 is up but 200 stocks fell and only 90 rose, breadth is negative despite the green index.
