Definition
The KSE-100 covers the largest company from each sector plus the rest of the top performers by free-float market capitalisation, so it represents most of the market's value. It is the index most quoted in Pakistani news to describe how the market did on a given day.
Worked example
If the KSE-100 closes at 120,000 points, up 600 points, the broad market gained about 0.5% that session.
