Definition
The KSE-Meezan Index (KMI-30) is built from companies that pass Shariah sector and financial screening, then selected by free float and liquidity. It is free-float weighted with a cap of about 12% on any single company, and is the main reference for Islamic equity investors.
Worked example
A Shariah-focused investor might track LUCK, MARI, and ENGRO through the KMI-30 rather than the conventional KSE-100.
