CDC Investor Account.

A CDC Investor Account holds your shares directly with the CDC rather than inside a broker's pooled account.

Definition

This direct account gives an investor individual custody and control of their securities, separate from the broker. It can add safety, though it may carry its own fees compared with a broker sub-account.

Worked example

An investor worried about broker risk may open a CDC Investor Account so shares are held in their own name at the CDC.

Capital gain tax
