Ticker symbol.

A ticker symbol is the short code used to identify a listed company on the exchange.

Definition

Each PSX company has a unique symbol, usually a few letters, used for quotes, trades, and charts. It is a quick shorthand for the company in market data.

Worked example

HBL is the ticker for Habib Bank, OGDC for Oil and Gas Development Company, and LUCK for Lucky Cement.
