Blue-chip stock.

A blue-chip is a large, established, financially sound company with a track record of stable performance.

Definition

On the PSX, blue chips are typically the heavyweight KSE-100 names with strong balance sheets and consistent dividends. They are usually more liquid and less volatile than small companies, though no stock is risk-free.

Worked example

Companies like OGDC, HBL, and LUCK are often described as PSX blue chips.
